What brand of smart tv do you have?

 

On my Samsung TV, I can delete an app from memory by using Up on the tv remote and selecting trash can to delete current copy from computer memory. The go back under My Apps and select the Amazon app again to down-load. The new copy should work if the first copy got corrupted.

that falls into the TV's or Amazon Prime's tech support area.
