Xfinity Stream Beta App on Samsung Smart TV

Hello everyone!

 

I just recently moved and my service was installed about a week ago. I have a Samsung smart TV (MU6290) and I downloaded the Stream beta app so I can avoid putting a cable box in my room. However, when I go to activate the device using the code that is given to me, the app loads a welcome message and says "This device can only access Xfinity Stream on your in-home Xfinity network. Use the app on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to watch on the go, any time you like"

 

I'm pretty stumped here. My tv is already connected to my in-home network. I connected it when the installer was finished. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

using a desk/laptop or a smart device (android/apple) can you stream? are you sure you connected your roku to your own home wifi not someone else's and not the guest xfinitywifi SSID?

Yeah I can stream from my iPhone and i made sure its on my home network. There's no Roku involved

since your own smart devices are working it appears the Roku is not staying connected to your actual home wifi. try uninstalling the xfinity channel from the roku. then unplug the roku from the TV and power supply for a minute or more then plug back in. go through the roku settings to connect to the same home wifi your smart devices are using. then re-install and activate your Roku. if still having problems, what is the model number and firmware version of your Roku?
