Updated xfinity Stream TV app (Version 4.7.1.979) on my iPad

I updated my xfinity Stream TV app (Version 4.7.1.979) on my iPad (running iOS 11.2.1). When I launch the xfinity app, I get a "Get Started" screen. When I press the Get Started button, I get the following error "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost." Looks like the page it's trying to access is "xtv-pil.xfinity.com".

 

Of course wi-fi is working since I'm not having an issue with any of my other apps and I can do internet searches, etc. I have tried removing/deleting the app and reinstalling it, twice. Have also tried rebooting, at least twice.

 

Please help.

were you connected to your home wifi? did you try the other band (2.4 vs 5 ghz) or use cellular or a nearby phone tether?

Yes, I'm connected to my home wifi. The iPad only supports wifi.

I have the same exact issue! I spoke with Comcast and they said they would "open a ticket."  My laptop, iPad, and iPhone do not work, yet the other 2 iPads in my home work...very frustrating! It's not my modem, my internet is fine, and I'm not going to continue delete and download the app again.  This has to be an issue with Comcast's end, not mine.

I had the same problem on my iPhone - I disconnected from WiFi and retried while just connected to cellular. The "xtv-pil.xfinity.com" error went away and I was able to get a login screen.

I'm having the same issue on 2 separate devices. I tried changing wireless SSID's, rebooting my modem and router, and even tried at my Sister's house and the same issue occurs where the link to register the device is not loading. Come on guys this started happening yesterday! A huge company like Xfinity shoudn't have an issue like this without some notice going out letting people know you are working on it.

UPDATE: I tried what  stated about connecting to the cellular network on my phone and it worked BUT the 3 iPads in my home are not cellular enabled, only WiFi enabled.  I figured it out myself and definitely has to do on Comcast's side, but very frustrating that I even have to do all the following steps to reconnect my iPads to the Stream TV app.

 

1) Connect iPad to personal hotspot on my iPhone to connect to cellular network

 

2) Sign in the app and "add device."

 

3)  Once the app is running, disconnect from my hotspot, then connect to my regular home WiFi

 

4) Do not sign off or you'll have to do it all over again

 

Again, very frustrating!!!

It's not just your iPad, the Andoid Stream TV (4.7.1.005), Xfinity Stream Beta on Roku, Xfinity Stream on browsers, all have similar problems. We're being redirected to a site that won't open. (Make sure you’ve got the right web address: https://xtv-pil.xfinity.com)

Nothing to do but sit back and hope Comcast gets it's stuff straight.

I talked with support last night and they are actively working on a bug fix.

As of 01/08, it now works fine on all my devices.

Same here. Some devices work fine,others do not. Comcast has been no help. Keep putting me off to the next higher tier.
