I am having the identical issue.  I've had my Roku for about three months; Xfinity Stream worked OK until this week; now I'm getting the "something went wrong, try again later" error.

did you install a new gateway/modem recently?

No, I didn't--no changes to my configuration at all.  However, last night I tried the solution given above--restart my router; delete the app; restart my Roku; reinstall and reauthenticate the app.  Thus far that seems to have done the trick.
