Listen to the audio channel only

Hi,
Is there a way to listen to a channel's audio only without video?

As I am on the road a lot, i would like to hear the audio only to save cellular data. For example for News channels don't really need the video, audio is enough.

I am using the streaming app on Android.

This feature is available on iOS currently, but not yet on Android. We hope to bring it to Android in a future release.

directions please? app has to be in foreground (video) that I can tell to be 'running' audio.

Settings > Allow Background Audio (again, iOS only).

could you do a step by step? are you on 10.3.3 or later? The 'normal' way is not implemented by the coders in the app that allows you to 'run' in background and control from pull up play control screen.

I'm on the development team.

 

Go to Settings. Choose Allow Background Audio. With player up, lock device (or background app—e.g., to check your mail). If player would have 15s skip buttons—e.g., for DVR content or fast-forwardable OnDemand—lock screen and control panel will, too. Linear content, as below, does not.

thank you very much. For info I misunderstood and searched through all of the iphone's settings app. I do wish they had the option available to 'mix' instead of exclusive only but that's just my preference. again, thank you.
