Error 8008

I am receiving the above error trying to viewing downloaded content on a TV via HDMI cable. I have disabled screen recording is IOS 11 but I am still receiving this message. Is the Xfinity Stream supported on IOS 11 and if so what do you need to do to make it work.

Xf blocks viewing on external display/tv while using the streaming app. It is possible using streaming website on a pc.

Anyone else having this issue with connecting iPhone with hdmi cable to tv?

Everyone who tries to connect mobile device to tv will get this error. Xf has blocked the app from streaming when any type of displaying/mirroring to an external display/tv is being used.

The recording of programming is blocked by the content protection system. and streaming of the stream app to a TV is specifically blocked for smart devices. (Roku is allowed).

One thing I did to work around this is that I looked up the show I wanted to stream, found the original channel it’s produced from, downloaded their app and logged in with my Xfinity credentials and it worked!
