I have a Motorola RNG200T from Comcast (about 2 years old). It was able to be controlled as recently as last week via the now defunct xfinity web app.
I installed the XFinity TV Remote app 3 days ago; but it still says 'No Devices'.
Any advice? Is Comcast just abandoning any support for non-X1 equipment?
After 3 days, I can now answer: It does work with non-X1 DVRs, in theory.
For 3 hours this afternoon, my device showed up; and I could do everything that the service I PAY FOR said it could: manage DVR recordings, change channels, etc.
However, that was short lived; it has now reverted to saying "No Devices". In this whole time, I have not rebooted my Box, signed in or out, reset my iPad, or anything else. Whether or not it recognizes my DVR as an 'eligible device' has nothing to do with my end; it's totally a "Comcastic enhanced experience"!
