We are current Xfinity TV subscribers, but we still have ATT for voice phone. We are thinking of making the switch to Xfinity for phone as well. One ATT feature we love is having a second "virtual" number which when called produces a Distinctive Ring (they call this Ringmaster). Is this feature available from Comcast?
Comcast does not offer distinctive ringing or virtual numbers like some 3rd party VOIP phone co's offer.
I'd like it too, and miss it from my previous phone provider.
They are starting something soon called Voice 2go. I don't know if it will have distinctive ring but it will have virtual phone numbers. Here is the description from my Comcast User Accounts page:
Voice 2go Features
Features of Voice 2goTMinclude:
XFINITY Connect mobile app - provides access to these services:
Advanced Call Forwarding - add up to 5 phone numbers that ring when your Voice 2go phone number is dialed
Virtual phone numbers - Add personal phone numbers
Call rating is governed by the Unlimited call plan.
I am sure the reason that Comcast does not offer a distictive ring so that home fax machines and voice mail are compatible is this way they can sell a seperate line for an additional $11.95 per month. What does everyone else think?
