Is there a way to turn off the system voicemail?

I have searched and am sure that I've just missed something ... but, is there a way to turn off the Voicemail feature on my home phone account?

WHile there is no On-Off feature available to the end user, you can call into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and request that this feature be turned off in its entirety.
