Re: EXERCISE TV

I do not find the replacement offerings anywhere near as varied and as good as what was offered on Exercise TV.  Very disappointed in the decision to stop exercise TV  The only reason we decided to go with On Demand was Exercise TV.  In my opinion, the replacement workouts are not worth the price.

What Happened to Exercise TV?

Just went to On Demand to do one of the walking exercises on Exercise TV and it's gone!  Whatever cheapo Comcast replaced with appears to have NO walking workouts.  I'm really about ready to switch to another service.  Exercise TV was one of my main reasons for having On Demand.

exercise tv is shutting down. Even if you still had it right now it would completely disappear at the end of this month.

Re: EXERCISE TV

I understand that Exercise TV is gone, kaput! The new offerings of Comcast or Xfinity On Demand are very poor. There is very little variety in the type of exercise and almost no choice for the various viewers who may have a disability or be challeneged in some way.

It seems to me that Comcast is such a HUGE corporation that someone could take the time to see which of the Exercise TV videos were the most popular and create its own 'Workout" or "Fitness" TV that would be more popular with people who pay for the On Demand service.  They do it for the movies, why not health and fitness - since there is so much emphasis on that these days?

Or, there is no reason they cannot contract with the exercise specialists like Leslie Sansone or Denise Austen or Gilad (if he is still doing shows) to have a better variety of programming.

Do it, Comcast - the goodwill would be a great pay back to us.

Re: What Happened to Exercise TV?

If you switch to another provider you still won't have access to Exercise TV On Demand.

No one will be able to provide something that does not exist.

Re: What Happened to Exercise TV?

Obviously Comcast knew this was coming.  It would have been nice to have some notice so I could purchase more dvd's.  I really depended on Comcast for my exercise program.  I now have no reason to keep the pkg. that allows On-Demand.

Re: What Happened to Exercise TV?

Exercise TV was managed by Comcast, Time Warner and New Balance.  All three are/were equal equity partners in the company which was initially launched by Jake.  Here is the link.

http://www.exercisetv.tv/about/

I too am very distraught by this change...has upset my entire morning routine.  The new exercise shows are no where near the level of the Exercise TV team.  Exercise TV was one of the reasons we switched to Comcast Xfinity - and the local sports.

And yes, am disappointed about paying premium price for premium service to be downgraded to this.  Am also pondering the statement about operating in the red.  Wonder if any percentage of our monthly premium xfinity fees was included in the P&L.

Further, the whole point was turning the tv on and selecting a show in one easy step...I am not quite there with the wired TV and doing the workouts on my computer is not as efficient at this point. I gave away my logitech review box because it was really cumbersome and slow...this technology has a couple of years or so yet to be integrated into the general household.

Also not interested in paying $1.99 to $2.99 for only a 7 day download of only one exercise video.  I was pretty close to paying the $9.99/month for the web based submission and went directly to the computer yesterday to subscribe to find it was being shut down as well.

Anyway...respectfully submitted...feeling my booty drop already from missing Bootylicious Buns this AM.

Very sad that Exercise TV is going away.  I don't like Fit TV as much either, so far.  Not as much variety.

Re: EXERCISE TV IS GONE :( Don't even know what to say about this. So disappointed

Comcast is partly to blame, they should have found a replacement exercise program that was comparable to the fitness instructors like Chris Freytag. The videos now are 3 years old, it appears as if music was added after the videos were made so they are off beat. Hard to do 4 count exercises with the instructor and music beat are off. Very disappointed in Comcast's choice of a replacement fitness program!!!! I believe Exercisetv gave adequate notice for them to find a replacement, they could have sent out a survey to the customers asking what we like/dislike, they do surveys all the time!

Re: EXERCISE TV

These are very poor quality fitness programs! Did Comcast even watch any of them? What can be done to replace them with better fitness programs like what was offered with Exercisetv? These are just awful! I'm so disapointed and misss my Cardio kickboxing with Chris Freytag! We should get a rate reduction, overall VOD has poor offerings, I'll be shopping around for a replacement provider if the service offering doesn't improve and my monthly bill doesn't go down.

Re: EXERCISE TV

I miss ex tv terribly too! I was lucky enough to purchase a bunch of their videos before they went away. Got me some nice Chris Freytag for $1!

I did one of the new ones out there that wasnt so bad. I wish I remembered the guys name. It was circuit training with some nice stretching at interesting places. It was challenging. I didnt like the music as well, but I guess we cant have it all. I am hoping as I get time this weekend I can find some good ones. I know I had favorite trainers with ex tv too, hoping to find some here.

Re: Exercise TV - Where did it go?

The new exercise options on "on demand" are horrible . . . boring "instructors," little music, and nothing to appeal to me, a 30-something woman with kids.  I miss Chris Freytag and Jillian!  Comcast, please either get a better exercise option for us, or just put individual exercise dvds in your exercise channel.  The main reason I keep my pricey cable is for the free workouts (better than paying for a gym).

Exercise Tv is never coming back neither are they going to put back any ofsame trainers according to agent I talked to on the phone

I hate new workouts! no inspiration and no music! I liked the walking and core exercises Leslie was great, the 10 pound slimdown was great too, Keagan  was good and there was always Denise Austin to mix it up ... Hate, hate the new ones and there is not even a walking section! Come on Comcast come up with something better to fit our needs. No offense but this new workoputs seem like you scrumbled up at last minute and came up with anything... please get something better with music and a walking section . I am so very unhappy and missing my workoputs. I hate exercising and exercise tv did the trick... now I am lost :-(

Re: EXERCISE TV

So disappointed in the new "FIT" workouts! I really miss the exercise TV workouts. I have tried almost every FIT instructor now and have yet to find one that I like. They ALL make multiple mistakes, don't put in nearly as much effort, and they don't motivate or educate. I am lucky if I even break a sweat during a 40 minute video. I just feel like I am wasting my time now. I am really annoyed with comcast for not finding a suitable replacement.

Re: EXERCISE TV

I understand that Exercise Tv no longer offers videos on demand, which I loved and used every morning. The new on demand fitness workouts are AWFUL! I am not one to complain but I've tried several different videos for over a week now and each one is worst than the previous. The instructors are not motivating what so ever and the workouts are ridiculous! Comcast is there another company that offers fitness on demand? The ones you have now really need to go, they are so bad!!

I agree the fitness tv is absolutely horrible.  I cant even stand watching it for 5 minutes and to boot the trainers are not the most fit to be on a fitness workout.

FITNESS WORKOUTS

About two weeks ago, due to Exercise TV no longer being available,Xfinity put in the new line of Fitness Workouts.  Under a previous posting I did entitled "Exercise TV", the responses to the Fitness Workouts have  been almost totally negative.  The purpose of this posting is to say that I think the Fitness Workouts are pretty good!  I have done a different routine every day starting the first day they were initiated, and they definitely are working because new muscles are always sore the next day.  This means I am working different muscles than I used every day with Exercise TV, which I think is excellent!  New muscle challenges mean stronger and leaner muscles and a more fit body! Since Exercise TV is no longer available, due to no fault of Xfinity, I think the Fitness Workouts are a fine replacement.

Goodbye ExerciseTV, Goodbye Comcast

Thank you, Comcast, for deleting the only thing that made me hesitant to get rid of your service. Now I will have no qualms about switching to a better cable provider. I forced my boyfriend to hang on to your service because of ExerciseTV. I couldnt get anything like it from your competitors. But now I am having to purchase DVDs. Time to switch providers, too.

Since the channel was "a division of NBC Universal" managed by Comcast, it's unlikely that its ending had "nothing to do with Comcast". See:

Re: Goodbye ExerciseTV, Goodbye Comcast

But if the division is losing money, do you expect Comcast to keep operating it? A division is little different from an independent business -- if it's losing money and has no prospects of a turnaround, it eventually has to change its business model or close up shop. Occasionally a company will subsidize a losing division because of the PR value or as a loss leader, but in most cases every division has to pull its own weight and make a profit.

Re: EXERCISE TV

I love Leslie Sansone too.  I ordered a couple of her dvd's from Amazon when I saw the junk that's on there now.  I do miss the variety of Exercise TV and think it's a shame that Comcast replaced it at all, let alone with the junk they found somewhere.  I know it's time to look for another provider.  The internet's not so great either.  If you want the home page with access to email, you have to put up with the annoying, frivolous videos they promote.  Ugh.

I'm assuming you're responding to my post.

I didn't say Comcast should continue to operate a failing business segment. My only point was: the statement that the closure of ExerciseTV had nothing to do with Comcast might not be entirely accurate.

Apologies if I assumed incorrectly.

I don't know about the other workouts but the yoga in the new fitness workouts is terrible. Seems like only one instructor (and his wife) and feels like it's from 15 years ago. Very disappointed.

Re: EXERCISE TV

The attempt to replace Exercise TV was a total flop. "Fitness Workouts" totally sucks, the workouts are boring and old.  Were any of them recorded post 1985? Come on Comcast, you can do better.  There must be a way to provide Crunch Gym, Jillian, etc. I am very very disappointed!!!

Re: EXERCISE TV

I'm so disappointed in the new fitness section of On Demand. After scrolling through all the workouts and not finding a decent one, I decided to give one a chance under the "work out with weights" section and I barely broke a sweat. The trainer was not motivating and the music was off beat. I miss Chris Freytag and the Jillian Michaels workouts. Comcast, please give provide us something better than what you have now......

Re: EXERCISE TV

We all know by now it was not Comcast who dropped ExerciseTV, however Comcast does determine their channel lineup and partners. They should have surveyed their customers and/or at least found better if not comparable exercise videos than what are offered now. These are so outdated its ridiculous! I don't even break a sweat now. Shame on Comcast!

Re: EXERCISE TV

Hey there; I'm in the same boat! IDK if Comcast is planning on bringing back Exercise TV, BUT I do know the replacement is...well...not good. I've been using Exercise TV On Demand since July, I had certain routines I used daily, and now they are all just GONE. It's completely thrown off my routine AND my desire to do kickboxing. I'm open to new instructors and vids, and I've tried many different selections on the new FIT program On Demand, but unfortunately, none of the ones I've tried are enjoyable. With Exercise TV, I had 2 kickboxing vids and 1 of the 10 min total body workout vids; I really enjoyed alternating between these 3(and I've NEVER enjoyed exercise until this past year). The kickboxing selections were just enjoyable to me bc I wasn't just working out, I was learning a type of "self-defense" as well. Now though, the vids available for kickboxing are just DULL! They seem more like step aerobics than kickboxing, the camera angles are alll over the place so it's hard to follow to instructor. I'm just very disappointed. I HAVE found 1 15 min total body vid On Demand that is somewhat comparable to my previous 10 min Total Body vid(just to tone muscles). It's ok, but the entire kickboxing category is def lacking. I've tried the new program out for a cpl of weeks now, and I can see myself getting very bored with it...SO, I'm going to TRY to find my former vids on youtube and use that instead of using On Demand for my workout routine. Good luck to you, and please keep going! lol Smiley Happy
