dvi/hdmi output is blocked error message

Hello. New Samsung UN50RU7100FXZA TV, new Comcast cable box model SARN150N s/n SACDNM150N. I'm getting the following error code: The DVI/HDMI output is blocked, press exit to cancel. Help please!

Are you paying for HD service? Some boxes don’t pass an HDMI signal without being paid for

Why are you using the HDMI to DVI port? It's for old televisions. It only passes an HD signal without audio. A separate audio connection(s) would be required.

rbartrug, there is also another troubleshooting step that many with similar issues have found helped. Unplug all hdmi connections. Unplug all power cords. Reattach hdmi cables Plug power cords back in. Power up.

The issue is finally resolved. Multiple phone calls and text messages to Comcast customer support didn’t help much. In the end, I determined the new HDMI cable only worked intermittently. Replaced the cable, my problem was resolved.
