Spanish & English Subtitles

(Ok, I'll try this again.) My situation may be a little different from others. I am married to a man who speaks ONLY Spanish. I speak ONLY English fluently, and am learning how to speak Spanish. I need to know if there is a way to program your Comcast to have subtitles...preferably Spanish subtitles on English programs, and English subtitles on Spanish programs. How do the people who can't hear do it? I've heard of something called SAP...do you have to pay more for this?

Re: Spanish & English Subtitles

It's highly dependent on the programming. It's unusual to have mulitple languages for CC, though. I don't know of a way to make it automatically change depending on the primary spoken language.

You can look at some of the closed captioning information in the Wikibook:

Basically, doing CC on the Motorola boxes is horrible.

The only way I can think of is to use the remote control that came with your tv. You can set the language you want to show.
