Skipping “Watched” Episodes / DVR

Is there a way to have the DVR NOT record episodes of shows that you have already “watched”?

I record a series that I have seen most of the 10 year series but it doesn’t record in order - so sometimes there is episode from Season 3 and then after episode from Season 7 and then episode from Season 10 etc

I usually delete episodes after I have watched them but the DVR still records repeat episodes even if already marked as watched.

Is there a way to program the DVR so it only records episodes that are not marked WATCHED....?

I know it knows it was WATCHES because it records it and when I go to watch the episode it is there in big blue letter on the episode labeled WATCHED
