How does “Limited Basic 30+ Channels” get to my TV

I just added the “Limited Basic 30+ Channels” service, but when I plugged the cable into the TV & scanned for channels all I got was one channel showing test bars.  Do I need a cable box? Or some other adaptor to make it work?  Or is service just available for streaming (i.e. viewable on my iPad)?

You don't do a "scan for TV channels" with their TV service. Their head-end equipment sends a channel list to the equipment in your home automatically.

And since all channels are encrypted, you need either a cable box provided by Comcast, a Partner device approved by them, or a CableCard device to watch. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-stream-beta-app-faqs, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-tv-app-requirements, and https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/about-cablecards.

Thank you for the information.  Do you know if Comcast has any plans to incorporate the FireStick into it’s partnerships?

It does not work for now.  They will announce it, if or when it actually happens.
