HD DVR box flashes out and flashes dui on screen, just went and got new one from comcast and still same. Going to other service.
dui meas DVI and will pop up when the HDMI between the TV and the set top box are syncing signals or resulutions.
It is normal to see this, and one thing to do is leave the set top box turned on. It has much to do with the how the HDTV lockes onto the different resolutions coming out of the set top box.
Some switch the box to a fixed output using the customer menu, and some switch to component cables between the box and the TV. You might want to try another HDMI cable.
DVI is not a serious error, just an indication that there is a delay in the handshaking between the box and the TV. It does not stop your service from operating.
You also might want to go to your TV mfr's support site and install the latest firmware for your TV.
Your info is helpful, is this a Comcast issue then? We just got a new Samsung and it is so annoying! Supposedly this was all taken care of when the store installed the TV and Comcast came out and brought an updated box, so confusing for the consumer. Help anybody!!!
