Forced new box

Forced new box

I just got notified that I am getting a new box. I am assuming it is an X1 box. The thing is, I don't have an HD TV, and my current box works fine. Is there any way out of this?  I have an old TV and have no plans on upgrading it. I don't need or want the fancy X1 box.
