DVR Freezing

Our Arris dcx3501-m DVR never has problems with live TV, but recorded shows frequently freeze for 10 - 30l seconds before resuming play. Is that a sign of a failing hard disk or can it be something that I can fix?

That’s a sign of the hard drive failing
