Cables boxes

Cables boxes

I have homes in Nebraska and in Sarasota Florida.  We spend several months a year in Sarasota. I pay for cable service through Time Warner/Spectrum in Nebraska.  In Sarasota the Association provides cable service through Comcast/Infinity; however, they are charging me $5.99 monthly for a cable box.  I pay the same amount for my cable box in Nebraska. The cable boxes are the same so it would work with either cable service.  Can I get a cablecard from Comcast and bring my cablebox from Nebraska to Sarasota (using it in Sarasota the months we are there) to save the cost of paying for a cable box in Sarasota?

No, boxes are account specific.

Re: Cables boxes

I realize they are account specific; however, I would need a cablecard from Comcast.  Comcast allows using a customer owned cable box. I am leasing the box from Time Warner/Spectrum so technically wouldn't that be the same as a customer owned box?

Re: Cables boxes

The only customer owned cable boxes you can use with Comcast are Tivos. And the cablecards are account specific.
