From another thread, it was recommended that I sent a message to and provided Comcast with my account info, mailing address, new username, phone contact along with the request to restore my "old" username.  Just to be safe, I also called the Comcast 800 number.  While trying to be helpful, the 800 service coud not do anything but submitted a repair ticket for me.

My old username was restored within hours of my contact.  For that I'd like to thank this community for guiding me in the right direction and Comcast for the expeditious service.

When you change your username, the old username is suspended for a period of time (60 days, I think), so that a new user won't get it before all your correspondents have a chance to update their address books.

If you call customer support they might be able to unlock it and give it back to you.

restoring old user name

I changed my user name and I'd like to change it back to what it was, but everytime I try, it says it's in use. How can I put it back? I tried to log in with the old one but when I do that it tells me it doesn't exist.
