"does not have a valid ip configuration" "unknown network"

I just got 60mb Performance. I have a W10 computer that will not connect to ethernet. It says"does not have a valid ip configuration" and "unknown network". I set everything for DHCP. I did all manner of resets, netsh and ipconfig commands and nothing helps.
I can connect to Xfinity Wifi from next door. I can connect to ethernet and wifi with with another W7 computer. I have a SB5101U Docsis 2.0 modem.
What is wrong?

Did you power-cycle the 5101 modem after connecting the Win 10 computer to it ?

Yes I did but it did not help. I think the problem is in Windows 10 not the modem because I cna connect with a W7 computer. I have double checked the ethernet adapter IPv4 and IPv6 settings. I have been through several "solutions" found on the net.

Perhaps the driver for the ethernet network adpter card (NIC) is missing or corrupted ? Go in to the control panel >>> device manager >>> network adapters and locate and click on it. Then click on the "Driver" tab and first try to update it.

I updated to a 2018 driver and I still have the same problem. Device manager says the adapter is working  correctly. Wifi is working great connected to a nearby Xfinity network..

I also get "media disconnected" error messages.

Hmmm. That message usually appears when the adapter is disabled. Make sure that it is enabled.

I'm not sure what the problem is at this point, sorry. Perhaps someone else will happen by with a brainstorm.

I can connect to ithe internet ethernet with my Windows 7 computer but not with my W10 computer.

Wifi connects great  on both using a nearby Xfinity system.

I have done power downs and resets and modem restarts.

My previous thread ended without a solution.

FWIW, that output is normal.

I didn't know media disconnected was normal.

I'd replace the network adapter.

FYI: Your modem reached End of Life status a long time ago. You need to upgrade it ASAP. Visit http://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com to find approved modems for your speed tier.

If the "Isatap Tunnel Adapter" is not being used / is disabled, it's normal to say "disconnected".

Your "Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2": adapter normal parameters.
