email is intermittent

Since the upgrade a month or so ago, my email access is off and on.  i can see the list of emails, but from day to day i never know if they will open.  i get the spinning arrow.  Also, when i use the app to access it is alway going through some sort of process as a blue line goes across the screen saying 'retrieving account info....'  and then never opens.     Right now i cannot open any of my emails from my desktop or my ipad.  This has happened several times to me over the last month.
