For some reason, I am being deluged by spam email from the netherlands. I tried to create an email filter that would discard all mail from that domain, i.e. with the filter condition = from: .nl but the filter ignored the dot. That is, email from an address that contained "nl" anywhere in the address was being trapped, such as "ellenloew" or "nlmed.gov". I tried the condition = from: *.nl but that, too, failed.
Any solution to filtering mail from the country domain .nl?
Top level domains are tough to work with in filters in any email system. Try just nl without the dot, which in this case is not actually part of the domain name unless the sub-domain preceeds it, like "google.nl" or similar. You could also try *nl*
