correctable/uncorrectable

I own my own modem. It is a netgear cm1000 runnng firmware V3.01.04. I was having issues with internet drops outs and was able to isolate it to the modem. My downstream and upstream power was way out of spec. I was getting dozens of "RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power in Excess of 6 dB Below the Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW " errors. This was occuring ever second for days. Finally the tech told me that the box on the pole was the weakest in the area and he had to install an amplifer in my house. Now I am getting a ton fo correctables and uncorrectables.  The RNG-RSP CCAP errors are gone.  I wish for once a tech would come here and fix it right the first time. Ofcourse,  non of this showed when he was here. I have been on the phone with comast, chatted with the useles techs from india. The internet is working but know as soon as I get online with my work VPN and start remote desktoping into other computers. (I am teir 3 tech for my work) drop outs or latency  will happen. But as long as I pay my bill on time what does comcast care. right? Time to look into switching.  Below is my cable connection stats.  The downstream and upstream power are much better and the errors are gone. but now I am getting correctables and uncorrecables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: correctable/uncorrectable

The signal stats were fine at that moment in time. FWIW, the amount of uncorrectable codewords is minuscule in comparison to the amount of un-errored codewords.

Re: correctable/uncorrectable

Looks like the tech fixed one issue and created another. I guess I will get on the phone and push harder to get them to fix this. I had them 10 years ago. I left and came back hoping things had changed. Time to look into fiber.

What is the exact problem that you are currently experiencing ? Perhaps you misunderstood ? My last sentence about the codewords was that they are not a concern.

Re: correctable/uncorrectable

At this point I am just finished with talking about this. The service is never what I pay for and I need a service gauarantee for my job. The speed is always fine until I remote in to another computer or use my voip phone. Then it drops. My point is one problem was fixed but now I see the potential for another and want to preempt it if I can. I was told the box on the pole was the weakest in the neighbor. A solution to avoid future issues would have been to be put in the amplifier and then request the box be swapped. Then remove the amplifier once the signal is better. But I was left with only a band aid. Going above and beyond for a customer is a thing of the past now days. And when I switch providers. I am sure Comcast will beg me to come back with calls and mailers and make wild offers to lure me back in. They did the last time I left them. I have just lost trust. The network of IT folks I colab with are heavily influenced by me. Let the bleeding beginning. We have choice in mpls.
