FWIW, an ethernet cable connection is the safest type going !

I have my computer distant from the xfinity router. I have secure wifi but signal to computer is weak.  I ran 100 foot ethernet cable from router to the computer.  The ethernet gives me an non secure internet connection. Is there a way to access my secure wifi site with the ethernet connection?
