cant get online with new modem

i can get online through the xfinity wifi signal, but i cant get online and stay online through the new modem in the house.  I am paying $133 a month and this is irritating.  I have reset the modem probably 20 times in the last week.  It will let me online for about 2 or 3 hours, then disconnect..
