I received an email.com from Comcast stating my internet speed went from 75mbps to now 100mbps. However when I run speed test using xfinitys speed tester, I'm only getting about 30mbps. Called techs and they checked motem and connection and everything showed ok. They advised updating motem to dual band motem. Did so but still st 30mbps. What the heck is going on?

What is the exact make and model number of the "modem" ?
Try calling 1-800-comcast and ask a rep to *roll and re-provision* the modem. Also ask them to confirm that the provisioning and account data in their database is correct and complete and that the correct configuration / bootfile for your subscribed to speed tier is being pushed to the modem.
