Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

Malwarebytes helps get rid of some viruses, but the comcast system allows advertiser pop up ads even thought I have opted out. I have spoken to tech support many times, no help, better off talking to a grade schooler. It' s a shame the provider can not successfully address the problems. I may have to contact the better business bureau again.

the problem has been solved.  Comcast suggested using Malwarebyte.org and itworked.  It clears and protects.

Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

These ads are in the lower left or they kick me out of what ever I'm working on or they are voice ads in the background and only when I use comcast.  Wnen I don't use Comcast, I don't have a problem.  I asked Comcast not to do this and they say it takes 30 days to correct this issue.  Also Norton and Spybot did not find anything.
As a matter of fact as I way typing this, the voice ad just came up in the background.

Are you talking about the ads in the right side of the screen, to the right of the message list?  If so that is normal.  Or is this something else?  The ones at the bottom of the folders pane at the left side of the screen are also normal.

Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

Norton found nothing; spybot found nothing.  This is a Microsoft problem which they have to repair.  And they can't do that as yet.

Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

Did that.  Did not work.  Seems as if this is a microsoft problem that they can't seem to fix as yet since the implementation of 2013.

Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

The problem is not comcast, it is your computer.

You have a virus.

Download the Norton for free from the comcast.net webpage and do a scan

Re: Unwanted pop-up ads

I would suggest running a virus scan and a spyware/malware scan.

Download and run McAfee Stinger for viruses

Download, run and update Spybot S&D.

Disable system restore.

Boot into safe mode.

Run McAfee Stinger.

Run Spybot S&D.
