I get only a spinning wheel when I try to compose an email or edit an existing draft. After reading formum problems/solutions from several years ago, I changed to "Plain text," which allows me to compose, but with no formatting choices. I didn't change any settings; this just started suddenly yesterday.
Assuming you are in the new email format, when in the Compose page, click on "Options" to the right, and you will see the option to set either Plain Text or HTML.
Also, when in the Inbox page, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page, then on Settings. Under Mail Settings you will see "Format emails as", and the options to use either plain text or HTML or both. The latter is the default.
Thank you, but I've done that. When I choose "HTML" or "Both," I can't compose emails and just get the spinning circle (no error message). Changing that setting to "Plain" is the only way I'm able to compose.
I have Windows 10 and a laptop that is less than 2 months old. All worked just fine for years on this laptop and my previous one until it suddenly didn't.
In that case------------
Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session. If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser.
Clearing the browser/cache and restarting didn't work. I was able to get it to work in Chrome, but I still wonder why Firefox, which I prefer, does not let me compose email, after many years of working well. Why should I have to switch browsers?
