Re: Router 5 to 2.4

Do you mean that you would like to turn off the 5 GHz broadcast from the router / gateway  WiFi radio ? Is it a Comcast supplied device ?

Re: Router 5 to 2.4

I am trying to install a wifi lightbulb.  My phone is connected to the 5ghz channel and I need to connect it to the 2.4 channel in order to control the lightbulb.  I do not want to turn the 5ghz off.

I've had the same issue.  What you need to do is to temporarily change the 5GHz SSID name to something else (or turn it off, either way), then connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz band. The setup process should be ok from that point, and once it's done, you can switch your network back to its original settings.
