Re: Renting modem question

Yes. It would be faster to return / swap it locally. Ask for an XB3 model.

Renting modem question

Hi I recently started getting internet from Comcast and was wondering how many different brands and models of modems they rent out? Are some better than others? Mine is having issues with wifi and wonder if it's outdated. I ask because when I started my service I found a old modem that our old roommate left behind and decided to try to use it hoping to not have to pay the modem rental fee. Turns out it was a comcast modem that had never been returned so we ended up renting it anyways and when I asked the service rep if the modem was out of date she said no it should be fine.. But this router doesn't even have a 5ghz channel and keeps kicking people off the wifi. If I want to return it for another one will I be without internet as I wait for shipping? Can I just got to a service / return center? Thanks for any help
