For a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?

We just received and activated the wireless gateway yesterday. It was pretty simple with all devices except our ROKU. While trying to stream Netflix, we constantly lost connection. After each episode was over it also lost connection. I AM SO UPSET! 

We only have internet from Comcast and am so angry that our streaming device no longer works like it did.
