Re: Gigabit Internet Speed

Hi Adent, I can assist you with getting this issue taken care of. I checked your signals coming from the plant and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Please send me a private message with your full name, street address, and account number by clicking on my name (ComcastAmir) and then "private message me" and we can get started.

Re: Gigabit Internet Speed

@Adent, you're on the Gigabit tier? If so, that's strange, as I don't see the DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM channel. Might need a firmware update pushed to it.

EDIT: looks like a Comcast rep has been called in, hope they take care of it.

O/k disregard that as I couldn't see the entire screenshot in my browser.

Re: Gigabit Internet Speed

That is all the data I see. There are more than 32 channels?

Re: Gigabit Internet Speed

Those stats so far are o/k. Are there any more downstream channels listed ?

Hi @Adent

I've asked an employee to check the CMTS for real-time and historical RF signal reports from your modem. They can also check your local node/plant for any degradation or error reports. You can expect a reply in this thread.

I have the XB6 gateway. It keeps resetting almost every day and takes about 5-10min, its very annoying. My speeds are ok but since it only has 1 ethernet port I have to use wifi for everything. The wifi is also unreliable. I can also never connect to the Xfiniti hotspot.

- should I try to exchange it in the store if there is a newer version available or it has some defects?

- is it worth buying a newer router? Will Docsis 3.0 work or do I need 3.1. I always bought my owen modem before I upgraded to Gigabit but at the time the modems were too expensive.

I connect all my ethernet-enabled devices to a gigabit switch that is connected to the XB6 ethernet port.

Re: Gigabit Internet Speed

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here; http://10.0.0.1

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

You can use a multi-ported Ethernet switch connected to the port if you want more wired options.

The XB6 is their latest and "greatest"....
