FWIW, VPN's are indeed an excellent way to conceal oneself, but they are notorious for their added overhead which results in slower speeds and increased latency that may affect a serious online gamer's performance / enjoyment. Some VPN's are worse than others. The pay for ones are typically better than the free ones. YMMV.
Hi Armyvet0409 -- It would be recommended that you use a VPN to connect to the game in order to not have the IP address of the modem to be discovered. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a method by which you can encrypt your data so that your physical location, identity and online activity cannot be discovered
We play online games. Tonight while playing we came across a person that uses something on their computer to scan IP addresses and kick people offline. Apparently he can also find out the location of people while doing this. Is there anyway to block it with out buying additional hardware?
