Outlook 2007 cannot log onto incoming mail server

Outlook 2007 worked fine until today. Now I cannot receive into Outlook 2007 any email from comcast account and the emails already in my Outlook 2007 inbox show the error "The item cannot be opened".

I tried to verify the settings and send a test email...this error result

"Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): A secure connection to the server cannot be established."

Please help ASAP

Same issue here with Outlook 2010. Seems like the same issue as just before Christmas----"Cannot connect to server..."

At first, I thought it may have had something to do with my mailbox size, but even after archiving, this vexing issue has resurfaced again today!

What is your incoming mail server?

Have you been transitioned to the new webmail? [Appsuite from Zimbra]

I am having the same problem using Outook 2007 and my husband is having the problem using Outlook 2013.

Try changing the incoming server to imap.email.comcast.net

Please be advised that the correct setting for IMAP connections is imap.comcast.net.

 

While imap.email.comcast.net will work at the moment, it is not an official setting and will become unavailable in the future. Once that is removed it will cause issues for anyone using this setting.
