New Comcast Gateway replacement

I recently ordered this equipment and returned it because it only had 2 ethernet ports on the back.    I have an extensive wired network in my house and my current gateway has 4 ports... all taken.  I know I could hang a purchased router off one of the ports ....but would rather use the Comcast supplied one.    does this new equipment still only have 2 ethernet ports?   I think that is a pretty serious flaw.

Re: New Comcast Gateway replacement

The XB6 xFI Advanced Gateway only has two ports, correct,  but you don't need another router, any cheapo gigabit ethernet switch will do.

This is what I was using with my XB6.

Yes .... thank you!   I just ordered a NetGear 8-port Gigabit switch from Amazon and will give that a try.

I have been using the NetGear 8-port unmanaged Gigabit switch with my Xb6 for a few weeks now and very pleased with it's performance.

You made the right purchase choice
