Re: Intermittent connectivity

Adding to EG, you have ingress/noise issues, that your tech tomorrow should be able to fix. Those first few channels (among others) have single digit downstream SNR (should be between (38-41), there’s also a noise (high pass) filter on your drop, put on there by the maintenance team.

Re: Intermittent connectivity

Looks like there are some RF signal problems. The modem is only locking 1 downstream in that pic. Are there anymore downstreams being locked ? And it's only locking 1 upstream channel. And the upstream power is high. Have you tried re-booting the modem ? That would only be a temporary fix, it at all..

It's good that you have a tech coming tomorrow !! Here are some things you can check for in the interim;

In a self troubleshooting effort to try to obtain better connectivity / more wiggle room, check to see if there are there any excess/unneeded coax cable splitters in the line leading to the modem that can be eliminated/re-configured. Any splitters that remain should be high quality and cable rated for 5-1002 MHz, bi-directional, and no gold colored garbage types like GE, RadioShack, RCA, Philips, Leviton, Magnavox, and Rocketfish from big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Wal-Mart etc. Splitters should be swapped with known to be good / new ones to test

If there aren't any unneeded splitters that can be eliminated and if your coax wiring setup can't be reconfigured so that there is a single two way splitter connected directly off of the drop from the street/pole with one port feeding the modem and the other port feeding the rest of the house/equipment with additional splits as needed, and you've checked all the wiring and fittings for integrity and tightness and refresh them by taking them apart then check for and clean off any corrosion / oxidation on the center wire and put them back together again, then perhaps it's best to book a tech visit to investigate and correct.

Re: Intermittent connectivity

There is about 32 Index Columns for Downstream chart, let me know if you need to see more data.

Thanks

I don't know where to find the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

Model: TG1682G

Make: ARRIS

This is Wired Connection.

Re: Intermittent connectivity

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?

Is this a WiFi connection ?

Re: Intermittent connectivity

To be more specific about the spikes...I am getting anything from 2.0mb to then 130mb constantly. I cannot browse correctly or stream anything because of the buffering.

Intermittent connectivity

For the last 24 hours I have had spikes of low/high connectivity to the internet. I work from home and I have never had this problem before. I do not see an outage in the area. I do not know what the issue could be? I have contacted comcast twice already and tried every type of reboot and signal. I used to get 75mb and then they upgraded me for free to 100mb and they recently upgraded again for free to 150mb...I wonder if my modem can't handle those speeds? I have the modem from comcast (black one).

I have a tech visit scheduled for tomorrow but I am just worried since I work from home and this is limiting me from doing my job...
