Hourly Live Update

Since updating Norton to ver. 22.7.1.32 I have been getting a live update check almost hourly which appears to be keeping my computer from going into the sleep mode overnight. How can I avoid the hourly check ?

Hi Curmudgeon,

 

Shortly after I upgrded to 22.7.1.32 I was receiving  frequent automatic LiveUpdates.  The vast majority of them were Norton Web Protection Definitions.  Then on Aug 30 I received  a Norton Web Protecion Defintions (HU update and frequency of Auto LiveUpdates slowed way down.  I have no idea if Nortonwas just catching up after the upgrade, as the upgrade was phased?

 

Perhpas a look in your LiveUpdate History will show something.  One thing I got into the habit of doing since I shut down my system every night, is to do a manual LiveUpdate after the system is totally bootd in the AM - this pulls all the updates that came over night and I only show a few auto updates (as opposed to Interactive) for the past few days.

Please bear in mind, if the automatic hourly LiveUpdate runs and does not find any new updates - there will not be an entry in the LiveUpdate History.

I will go with the overnight shut down route.
