Yep,  same thing happening here, again today. No reply from Comcast in either a PM or a post here, and their dispatch never called me after I called to complain and get a technician appointment. Century Link may be slower for the price, but at least their internet STAYED UP. We have someone working from home who depends on a reliable internet connection, Comcast has been unbelieveably unreliable ever since they sent some teams out to screw up the lines on our street.

 

Get your stuff together Comcast. And you have the gall to start milking customers with 'Data Caps' in flagrant violation of Net Neutrality even though the cost to you to deliver bandwidth has decreased exponentially over the last 15 years.

 

What are you even doing during all this "maintenance" that has been going on and disrupting internet access for so many people in our area? Did someone screw up the first time and now other teams are being sent out to try and trace the mistake? Or are you just staffed by sadists?

 

Thanks for letting me know we're not the only ones in MN with these issues djcrazy.

I have the same issue here in New Hope.  This has been going on for over a week on my old SB6121. So today, I went out and bought a new MB8600 and went to the Brooklyn Park store and had them provision it. Now tonight, I am having these issues again.

Comcast did work on street lines - Now constant T3/T4 timeouts, modem resetting

We received a notice that Comcast was going to be out this last week doing some work in the neighborhood. We just switched back to Comcast, we left Comcast previously because of constant connection drops. Everything had been going well for a month and a half, until they messed with the lines up and down the street yesterday.

 

We are now receiving constant T3 timeouts, and the internet is constantly dropping out. One of the household members works remotely for a living, we cannot have this happening.

 

I called a tech and already had them try reprovisioning it, made no difference. All the levels I can see in the modem signal page are well within spec. I have not seen any fluctuations in these signals after a reset either.

 

Finally, the phone support person I'm speaking with trying to get an appointment said they needed to reboot the modem first (even though the previous call had them reprovision it already), and then that they couldn't schedule an appointment as we did not rent the modem from them. Ridiculous. This is why we ditched Comcast a few years back, and were nervous about switching back. We can't have this circus attitude towards internet access in this day and age.

 

I would like someone from Comcast to please contact me, and as it can be a crapshoot for having a tech come out who knows what they are doing, please make sure a tech is sent out ASAP who will go out and check the lines. This issue did not start until they came out with their trucks yesterday and started messing with the lines. It is crazy that Comcast is not investing enough money in their support to make sure every support member is competent enough to even schedule an appointmemt.

 

Finally before anyone else suggests the basic troubleshooting steps such as rebooting, power cycling, checking for splitters, etc, all that is done. The internet was fine until they came out yesterday and messed with all the lines on the street.
