Cisco DPC3941T modem----how do you delete old SSIDs??

I have a Cisco DPC3941T modem providing telephone, internet and cable TV service to my home.

In an attempt to improve slow performance( I am paying for the 150mbps plan), I hard reset the modem to the original factory settings. I then had to go into MYXFINITY account to establish new SSID and passwords---which I did.

Now for the problem:

Despite the reset, my devices continue to see the old SSID being broad cast. And--it shows strong power signal.

I am thinking that this is potentially draining power from my new SSID networks and thus limiting coverage range.

Is this possible?

Finally----how do I "kill" the old SSIDs?
