I don't know anything about Chrome. Does it have a popup blocker? If so, you can investigate that angle. It could be seeing the attachment as a popup.
I'm just throwing this out because IE poopup blocker will sometimes prevent an attachment from opening.
I don't know why gmail server was mentioned when you clearly stated this was happening in your Comcast mail.
If after clicking Download nothing happens, the file doesn't download completely, or the file can't be opened, there may be a conflict with software on your computer, a browser or cache that needs to be cleared, or a temporary problem on the Gmail server
I'm using Google Chrome. When I receive attachments in Comcast e-mail (e.g. Word docs, Excel Spreadsheets) they will not open for me to view. I have to save them first. Is there a setting that I must change and if so in which app. (.Chrome, Email, Microsoft Office).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
