We just upgraded our internet to the 150mbps, but my Arris SBG6580-2 will not download any faster than 30 - 40 mbps. I have checked the settings in the router, but I do not see what changes I would need to make to get the speeds up. I am running SBG6580-22.214.171.124-GA-00-092-NOSH firmware, and I think this is the current firmware.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Which speed tier were you subscribed to before upgrading ?
What do you get for the upload speed ?
Is this with a WiFi connection ? If so, for a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same speed problem ?
Have you first tried powercycling / re-starting the device ? No joy ? Try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear for 30 seconds. You will lose any customized settings.
