You'll get more speed capability from the 5.0 GHz compared to the 2.4 GHz, band but the range capability will be less.
The 5 Ghz band is also less susceptible to interference from devices like cordless phones, microwaves, and those that use Bluetooth and USB 3.0. I recently spent hours troubleshooting constant 2.4 GHz dropouts on my router so I know how much a pain that is.
Is it best to connect all devices to the 5.0 Ghz band or split depending the device. For instance should I separate Streaming TV, like Netflix or Hulu on one and Smart Phones, laptops, and Printers on the other?
