phone line connection

I installed new modem today.  I talked to a "Mark" to give model number and MAC address.  My service is both internet and phone.  The new modem supports both, this per Xfinity and vendor.  Insallation started at 9am this morning local time.  It is 11am.  So far internet is working,clearly, but phone not.  What is happening?  "Mark" has not called me back.  I cannot use our phone and that is not acceptable.  Help please.  thanks,  peter
