Xfinity voice doesn't work with my own new modem?

Xfinity voice doesn't work with my own new modem?

Latest owner provided Motorola cable modem.  Xfinity talked me into subscribing to Xfinity Voice. Now, customer service says I need a new modem for phone service??  Vonage worked perfectly connected through my server.  Is Xfinity really unable to do the same?

You must use an approved EMTA device.  You cannot just use a data modem to have Voice Service.
