AFTER REPLACING POWER SERVICE TO MY HOME, I FOUND OUT THAT THE PHONE LINE WAS NOT WORKING. I CALLED THIS MORNING AND TRIED THE SUGGESTED REPAIR OVER THE INTERNET. NOTHING WORKED AND IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I REPLACE THE PHONE CORD. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME. NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT!
Plug a phone directly into the modem and see if it works. If yes, then there is a wiring problem. If no, then powercycle the modem. If you still get no joy, you'll probably need a tech to sort it out.
