I decided to discontinue my phone service to try to reduce my total bill. The new provider says comcast will not release my phone number, although I filled out the form with all the info. I called Comcast twice and waited on hold a long time. The first call I gave up after listening to the annoying hold music for over an hour and a half. The second time I reached somebody and they said "there's nothing we can do" - no offer to help resolve the issue, nothing. The new provider says they cannot get the number until comcast releases it. How can I get this number released so I can move on?
