there is no dial tone on my two phones; fully charged; no incoming calls; checked to see if securely in wall
outlet - that is okay; message on phones says "check tel line". How do I do that?

try trouble shooting using this procedure:
If not isolated, call Comcast tech support
Phones all say check tel line. No dial tone
See the reply from bobhc right above your post....this is the troubleshooting for no dial tone. After performing the troubleshooting, if the service is still not working, call into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and speak with a CSR about the no service issue.
I would add to the Comcast suggestions, unplug from the phone jack all but one wired phone you are sure works. If you don't have a wired phone, buy a cheap one. You should have a wired phone anyway in case the transmitter dies in your wireless phone system.
Have you tried plugging the phone directly into the modem instead of going through your house wiring?
