spam filter not working

I can move an email from an unwanted source to my spam folder, but I continue to receive unwanted emails from that source. Am I supposed to take another step (such as emotying my folder) ?

When they get to the Inbox, keep marking them as Spam to help "train" the filters.  It may take some time for it to work.  If there is anything consistent about the messages you might consider using a filter of your own.  From the Inbox page click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page, then on Settings.  Under Mail you will see "Filter rules".  Open that and you will see the option to set up a filter.

Thanks.  I built a filter to send any message from that company to my spam folder. I appreciate your help.
