If you're using the Chrome browser check to make sure popups are turned on.  They need to be turned OFF.

You could simply have said that Chrome's popup blocker should be set to allow popups by "connect.xfinity.com", or referred posters to https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-Web-Browsing/hyperlinks-in-email-won-t-open/m-p/3197364#M206593.
