ZIMBRA what is it?

ZIMBRA what is it?

I keep getting pop ups from ZIMBRA.  Is it part of Comcast or is it a hacker or scammer?  Is it legit or not?

What do the popups say?

Zimbra is the mail application that Comcast has been using, but is now migrating people away from to Appsuite.

Re: ZIMBRA what is it?

I have been scammed so many times and am now very cautious as to what I will use.  Zimbra just started showing up and I have refused to log in with their requests. So with your answer, it seems that I can log in with Zimbra and be safe from hackers and scammers.  Did I understand that correctly from your answer?  Thanks.

What does the popup say exactly?

Re: ZIMBRA what is it?

I am asked to log in with my email name and password.  With prior issues with scams, I have not logged in when a pop up from Zimbra shows up.  I have not signed in with them at all.  I have no desire to get scammed or hacked again so have not submitted to those requests.  Sometimes I have to shut off my computer to get around those  pop-ups and it has been very annoying.

I will add to this to say that I get the zimbra login sometimes when I log in or out of the comcast email page.

But either way it does not recognize my credentials.

I have never added anything that would enable access to my account.  Lack of trust on my end.

Zimbra is the name of the company that provided the software for the old email format for Comcast.  Where are you seeing this?

Re: ZIMBRA what is it?

I see it when I am in comcast emails.  Not every time, but most of the time.  I can't get by it so I usually shut down and then go back in again.  There are times that does work but not always.  I have never subscribed for it and really do not appreciate it popping up on my screen and preventing me from continuing in a normal way.

Look at your location bar.  Does it say https ://connect.xfinity.com/zimbra.....?  Zimbra is the web client that Comcast has been using for the last few years until recently when it has started migrating everyone over to connect.xfinity.com/appsuite.  It's not something you subscribe to, it's just something you have.

Did you clear your browser cache?

Re: ZIMBRA what is it?

Is this a blue box that pops up on the screen?  Does it appear only when you are trying to sign into the account?  I think I have seen it once or twice myself, and I have been migrated to the new Appsuite software except for one account.

No I did not clear the browser cache, not sure how to do that yet.

It's usually found in Options/Preferences in your browser.

It was posted above by TomM at http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-Web-Browsing/ZIMBRA-what-is-it/m-p/3092636#U3093237.

Are you thinking of the screen posted by BlueJay in http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Customer-Service-Archive/Intermittent-login-issues/m-p/2866166#U2866408?

I have seen the Open-Xchange "Appsuite" login screen a few times, but I've never seen the "Zimbra" login screen.

ETA: In a related thread at http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-Web-Browsing/Zimbra-Email-Sever-Problem/m-p/3094673#M198511, ComcastBrett has posted a reply that may explain some of this.

Re: ZIMBRA what is it?

Thank you to all of you that replied to my question.  I have not had one of those Zimbra pop ups for a couple of days now.
